A very satisfying working bee today and into Wednesday. We planted Jeanette’s 46 Podolepis seedlings into five new areas. Hopefully we will be able to boost the population as it had dwindled to just a few plants.
Additionally, we removed a few of our target weeds that had popped up and some South African Weed Orchids that had germinated next to the St Macartan school fence. We will be on the lookout for more SAWOs over the next few months. We noted that the Harlequin Flower or Butter Silklily (Sparaxis bulbifera) seem to be spreading and will need to be on our targeted weeds list from now on.
Next Working Bee: this Saturday, 9-11 at Diamond Court.
