Today we mowed about 600sqm on either side of the Oakbank Road railway crossing and removed a number of regrowth casurinas and banksias that were encroaching on the grassland. This area has excellent potential for encouraging a more diverse flora as it all ready has many of our indicator species including Common Everlasting, Cranberry Heath…

Today mowed about 100m of the reserve between Padua and the railway tracks from the beginning of the Padua fence. This area has good potential to encourage a diverse indigenous grassland ecosystem. Litter is a problem with hundreds of litter items coming through the fence from Padua.

A really great working bee today with four people. We mowed the grassland areas in the area on the map. Also moved a large amount of dead fallen twiggy branches into habitat piles to open areas for grassland.
