Today mowed an area about 27m x 15m that contains a thick growth of introduced grasses. The plan is to mow again in spring when the introduced grasses flower (before they set seed) to advantage the indigenous plants that remain including Kangaroo Grass, Dianella and Lomandra.

Today we mowed about 600sqm on either side of the Oakbank Road railway crossing and removed a number of regrowth casurinas and banksias that were encroaching on the grassland. Today mowed about 100m of the reserve between Padua and the railway tracks from the beginning of the Padua fence. This area has good potential to encourage a diverse indigenous grassland ecosystem. Litter is a problem with hundreds of litter items coming through the fence from Padua.
